Designing the Lark list
A list looks like the simplest component in any design system. Ours took three rounds to get right, and the last round was mostly about deleting things.
Start with the line
Section titled “Start with the line”Every entry gets a hairline separator and nothing else. No cards, no shadows, no background fills. The row is the unit, and the row should disappear.
Titles carry the weight, descriptions stay quiet, and dates are small enough to ignore until you need them. That ordering is the whole design.
